The fall show season is upon us. No matter which equestrian discipline you compete in, fall is decidedly a busy competition season. This means you are no doubt packing, unpacking, and repacking your tack trunk.

Memories of forgetting

I’d have a running internal dialogue with myself about being a dingbat because I forgot to pack a hair bow, or stock tie, boot polish, sponge, electrolytes or, once, my girth.

Don’t leave home without them

When I was competing, the only pastes available were worming pastes, bute (phenylbutazone), Banamine® (flunixin), and electrolyte pastes.

Today, riders have a plethora of supplement pastes to choose from.
