Success Story: Olivia Turcott and Chester
Dressage rider Olivia Turcott writes in about her experience with BioStar supplements and Chester, a Rhinelander Warmblood gelding who needed to gain weight and muscle tone.
A few years ago my trainer at the time went to go pick up a new horse for me, but ended up bringing me a horse I didn’t intend to have, Chester.
Four days after picking him up we competed at a 1st level Dressage schooling show and the judge noted that I should “stick with him”. We have been together the past three years and I think it is sufficient to say that we are stuck with each other. I couldn’t be happier.
Chester is a 14 year old Rhinelander Warmblood gelding. When we first began working together I had a difficult time keeping weight on him. He was eating 2 1/2 quarts of feed, 2-3 times per day and would still lose weight, especially if we were in work.
This past summer, I worked with Stephanie Brown-Beamer as her working student. She turned me onto the whole food diet and BioStar supplements for horses, and put me in touch with Tigger to consult about what would be the best diet for Chester.
Over the past 6 months he has gained weight and built muscle tone. While he has always been personable, I’ve noticed that he has “perked up” and been more attentive about everything! I don’t feel the need to put him in the cross ties to braid because he is relaxed and in-tune with what is going on around him.
His transformation has been incredible. He still gets fed 3 times per day but now I know he is eating good food and in much less quantity.
Thank you BioStar!
