Team BioStar Welcomes New Rider Abigail McArdle
Team BioStar is proud to welcome show jumping athlete Abigail McArdle to its roster of sponsored athletes. Abigail grew up in the horse country of Barrington Hills, Illinois. It was her father’s love of horses that led her and her sister to grow up loving horses just like he had. Her love for the sport grew and she found herself dreaming of bigger and better opportunities. After six years under Katie Prudent’s tutelage, Abigail began working for Adam Prudent’s Plain Bay Sales in 2015, as the farm’s sale rider. Abigail not only carved out a successful junior career — including capturing the 2012 North American Junior/Young Riders Championships Show Jumping Individual Gold Medal aboard Cosma 20 — but has gone on to establish herself as one of America’s most promising young professionals.
Abigail has been partnered with Victorio 5 for the last few years and has been moving the 14-year-old Hanoverian stallion (by Uccello), owned by Victorio Equine Group, up the ranks since riding him to top results in the Under 25 division. Their most recent winnings include topping a field of 85 entries to win the $37,000 Equinimity WEF Challenge Cup Round 3 CSI3* this month.
As a proud partner of BioStar US Artisan Poultices, U.S. Abigail relies on BioStar’s poultice products to keep her horses healthy and ready to tackle the jumper ring.
“I love the BioStar poultice because [Victorio 5] actually has very sensitive legs, I haven’t had much luck with other poultices,” said McArdle. “They’ve been more irritating than helpful. What I find great about the BioStar poultices is that everything is hand-mixed, all the ingredients are things I can trace back to their roots and has no chemicals. You get a really great result with the poultice – a nice tight leg and no irritation.”
